It measures 30 miles north to south and 10 miles east to west, and sits on the largest reef system in the Americas. The water is so clear that visibility can reach 250 feet.

Finding your way around
San Miguel, the island's only town, runs along the west coast facing the mainland. Casa Cascada is a few blocks inland, about ten minutes by taxi from the airport and the ferry pier.
The calm west coast has the beach clubs, Chankanaab park and the famous reefs. One road loops around the south: past Punta Sur's lighthouse and lagoon, then up the wild, undeveloped east coast and back across the middle of the island.
